This is a 3 day VW bus festival with live music , family activities , VW bus exhibition , parts for sale area , hippie party and more. The site is located lake side so water activities are also available , there is a pool , sport facilities , very nice cabañas for rent and all the facilities necessary to make this event one to remember. The festival is to be held may 18th thru the 20th , yes 3 days of VW buses , music , camping , just like the Euros do it. This year we are Cruzing to the Rock in Plymouth. We will be gathering in a public lot with 30+ reserved parking spaces. Cost to park is $5 all day. Pay when you get there. Restaurants and shops are walking distance from the cars. "Bugs on the Hooch" will be a family friendly, cool car event. We'd like to see all the " 10 on a scale of 10" cars, as well as the "hood rides and ratts". We are located right next door to a park with a boat landing, bait shop, and picnic area....so there's something for eveyone. Bring the whole family and have a fun day at the park. Google the address and you'll see we have a wonderful location for this type of car show. There will be fenced in area for vendors/swappers, with consessions provided. All vendors and swap meet folks should contact me for availibility. There will be no cost for vendors/swappers. Admission to the show is free for all. There will be a cruise through historic downtown and then over to the local Sonic on Lancaster. Over the years, the GROOVE June Bug Jamboree has become a staple of VW owners and enthusiasts. The Jamboree will be held on June 8-9, 2012 on the grounds of American Legion Post 639, 2660 S. Scenic Avenue in Springfield, Missouri. Registration starts at 5:00 PM on Friday, June 8. The theme of the upcoming event is "It's All About the Journey" and includes a Volkswagen car show, entertainment, vendors, stereo sound off contest, engine sound off contest, slow drags, nearest to pin, car corral and a 50/50 pot. Friday night (June 8) entertainment and camping for participants is available on site. Entries to the car show are divided into 26 classes with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for each class as well as other special awards such as "People's Choice, "Best of", "GROOVE-iest", and "Cosmetically Challenged" awards for the car show. All car show entries must be Volkswagen powered or bodied. Admission to the event is one canned food item for local food pantries and is open to the public. This is a gimmick Rally thru the streets of Austin on Saturday, June 16. Registration opens at 2pm. Drivers meeting at 3:30pm and first VW out on the Rally at 4pm. The event starts at Austin's Pizza, 1817 S Lamar and will take drivers on about a 2 hour rally all over Austin. The teams will be given a set of directions with questions to be answered as they make their way on the rally route. The final ending spot is top secret. The driver/navigator that answers the most questions correctly wins! We expect to have 40+ Air Cooled VW's competing for the 2012 Air Coolers June Bug Rally Championship. The Austin Air Coolers is a group of folks who love old air cooled VW’s, Beetles, Buses, Karmann Ghias. Louisville, a small bedroom community outside of Omaha shall make for a nice atmosphere in a quaint old-fashioned setting. Our show is a family event with games, great raffle prizes, good food, music and nice trophies. For those wishing to camp, we have reserved an area at nearby Louisville State Lakes. Camping facilities include several state lakes, electrical hook-ups, swim beach and showers all on the banks of the Platte River. We are inviting all european cars including all AIRCOOLED to come and show this year. This year’s event will be located 1 mile off I-90 in North Bend, WA on 230 acres of lush green polo field grass. A grass amphitheater that is dug approx. 20ft into the earth and the size of a football field will be the location of our main stage, judging and day long events. Show Classes & Trophies: We’re going to try something new this year. We usually have about 31 classes for everyone to enter in and we give out a 1st and 2nd place plaque in each class… IF we have people entered in those classes. Without fail, we end up with some classes having only one participant, or worse, no one at all. We’ve also seen people that didn’t want to put their cars into the show because they felt like there were at least two cars better than theres and therefore they wouldn’t have a chance of winning anything. What this means is that we often have plaques that go un-awarded. Our club works very hard to pull in sponsorship dollars to put on our show and we watch every penny so that we can put on the best show and still have the most left over to donate to our charity. These plaques that are not given out are essentially wasted money. So this year, we’ve decided to move to a top 30 award structure. We will still have a panel of judges looking over each car, but now everyone has a better chance of winning because we will select the top 30 Beetles, Buses, Ghias, Buggies, Rails, and trikes. Don’t think for one moment that because you have a daily driver, a rat rod, or a hood ride that you can’t win. Our judges will still take into account the class each car is registered in when assigning points. The registration fee will still be $20, but we will also have a “Display-Only” entry fee that’s just $10. With Display-Only, all of your entry fee goes towards Crisis Services of North Alabama, you get a dash plaque, and you can still participate in contests and raffles. Ingall’s Harbor: Located on the southern bank of the Tennessee River, Ingall’s Harbor is best known for being the location of the national fishing tournaments that come to Decatur. When tournaments are not being held, it is a public boat dock for area fishermen. It is also the location for Decatur’s annual Riverfest event. Vintage Volkswagen Club of America Three Nights of Beach Front camping at Refugio State Beach, just north of Santa Barbara, CA on Hwy 101. Tuesday to Friday, August 21 to 24 This is the preimier group camp site on the Central Coast. If you like to camp at the beach, don't miss this one! Bring your kayak, paddle/surf board, fishing gear or just a nice lounge chair and book to hang out on the beach. We have room for 25 Aircooled Vehicles ONLY. Trailers count as a vehicle so the price doubles. It will cost $60 per vehicle for three nights which is half the cost of a regular camp site. The club has payed and reserved the back large GAZEBO AREA. This area has a large grass field next to the Gazebo and a small lake. I was told by Woodward park officials that we can park and BBQ on this field right next to your VW and the Gazebo. We will be having a few VW related picnic type games that everyone can participate in. The park also offers fishing for kids, jungle gyms and other activities. The picnic is FREE but it dose cost $5.00 a car to get in to the park,,, Bring your own food, drinks or meat to BBQ. Bring a BBQ or you are more than welcome to use the large one at the gazebo. when: arrivals starting on Friday August 31st and the event runs thru Monday September 3rd, 2012 where: the entire "group" campground at the Indian Creek Recreation Area located right on huge Mark Twain Lake, which is about 30 miles west of Hannibal, Missouri. Any and all VW's are welcome to enjoy this BNNTA family-oriented camping event. Featuring VW camping right on a 22 mile long lake, an informal VW Bus show, a fun and highly competitive best individual and best group campsite decoration contest, a scenic countryside caravan on Saturday over to discover the sights of historic Hannibal, MO (the childhood hometown right on the Mississsippi River of Samuel Clemens, a.k.a. "Mark Twain"), Bus show awards and door prizes, campfire activities, slow drags, etc. Our campground is lakeside, so bring your watertoys (canoes, kayaks, etc.). BNNTA is held in a beautiful Corp of Engineers built/managed campground with very nice facilities, clean bathrooms and nice shower facilities, a playground and a huge pavilion for our sole use. We restrict access to the campground to only VWs, so you won't wake up in the morning staring at the side of a motorhome, just the beautiful sight of VWs of all types sprawling off into the distance! The "total" event/camping fee for each VW for the entire four day weekend is only $30. Yep! A total of only $30! Oh! The car show will be held at beautiful Claremore Lake. Three trophies will be given per class with over 50 classes. Also, drawings will be held throughout the day for cash & giveaways prizes totaling more than $1,000. Awards will be given out at 4:00 p.m. The lake is beautiful and there are plenty of shade trees, picnic tables and a playground for the kiddies. Registration: Pre-register by mail before Sept.15, 2012 for $15 and be entered into a $50 drawing! Register the day of the show between 8:00-11:00 am for $20. Sat night: Back to camping under the stars with friends! Talking about the fun of the day around the campfire and kicking back! PLEASE READ: Sunday, Oct 7th 2012: We must be OFF the church property by 8:30 am , As every year we have to pack it up and leave due to the church having services that day and they need the parking area. Those dragging a bit that morning have to at least move to the far north east corner of the lot.. That is about it! Keep in mind .... October in New Mexico can be interesting weather wise. Hot days and chilly nights are not uncommon. Be prepared for weather changes. Bring sunscreen but don't forget your jacket. Nights can dip into the low 40's or even 30's! If campfires are your thing, please bring your own firewood, and all fires must be above ground and contained (fire pits, portable fireplaces, smudge pots...etc) This show is all about having fun, hanging out with friends, and raising money for good causes. There are, however, a few rules. No glass containers. No Parking on the dirt, the church has sold that area. No animals off leash or in the show area. If you bring animals, please control them, and clean up after them. Please be mindful of other people, and don't impede their good time. No on-ground fires. No burnouts. Especially during the slow drag races. Quiet time from 10pm - 6am. Although everyone is welcome to attend, we reserve the right to remove anyone from the campout at any time (with good cause) without a refund. Cost is FREE Oct. 19 - 21 - The Red Barn Roundup All you Type 2 folk can camp on the property next door to Chirco. There's room for all of you. Last year's events included live music, raffles, prizes and an extreme amount of fun. The Tucson Bus Mob helps run this get together and they always do it right. The Red Barn Roundup has become a "must-do" event for many campers. Join us Cost is FREE donations accepted. Oct. 21 - 17th Annual Chirco.com Bugtoberfest at Chirco 8am - 2pm The show as always promises to be one of the most fun times you can have with your air-cooled car in Arizona. People's choice awards, club awards, engine blow, awesome raffle prizes (no junk), Big Rattlesnake Alley Swap Meet, Music, entertainment in the form of you aircooled clowns, big in-store savings, t-shirts, posters, and a few surprises await those who attend. Cost to enter the show is FREE, swapmeet space is FREE, Cost to attend is FREE This show does benefit the Foodbank of Tucson. A donation of non-perishable food items is appreciated.
