I start out with an original FACTORY STAMPED block that is thoroughly inspected by RIMCO first!! Block is then chem. treated back to factory NOS / New condition look. This finish WILL NOT wash off with laquer thinner, gasoline, oil, paint thinner, beer, etc, etc, etc, This "goldish / brown" finish is actually a "sacraficial" chem. dye penetrant that not only protects the magnesium case against the elements, it prevents it from developing that "white chalky" / film of oxidation.
When I recieve the engine block back, I take it 1 step further and remove all aluminum plugs and tap all oil passages and THOROUGHLY clean with rifle brushes and solvent. Once im satisfied that all oil galleys are clean, engine block is scrubbed internally / externally one more final time for positive cleaning! I cannot stress how important this process is! You would be amazed of the so called "rebuilt" engines I have taken apart that have failed prematurely because of all the "crud/sludge" that was left behind inside by the previous so called "Master Bozo VW Mechanics". INCREDIBLE! :-(
Main bearing tunnel is line-bored with thrust area cut and cylinder decks re-surfaced. Crankshaft is re-ground, micro-polished and balanced, camshaft re-ground, rebuilt and balanced connecting rods, flywheel re-surfaced and balanced, NOS balanced 25hp pistons, rings, pins etc. etc. etc, rebuilt 25hp heads with all new guides, resurfaced bore area, resurfaced seats, valves, new springs etc, etc,..all by RIMCO. Original cadmium plated hardware, new main bearings, rod bearings, flywheel seal, 1300 H.D. oil pump, flywheel/gland nut, etc. etc. Price: $4995. Longblock is now ready for you to install your sheetmetal, fuel pump, gen., carb, etc, etc. I only accept a $250 deposit to my Paypal account and the balance when your longblock/engine is completed. Right now, build lead time for your longblock is approx. 3-4 weeks. I also build you an online photo album that you can privately view your engine build as it comes together from bare block to complete longblock/engine. No more "wondering" if your engine has a reground crankshaft or rebuilt heads or line-bore or ???. Everything is right there in front of you to see so there are no "surprises" later on.
