Mobile Aircooled Rescue Service   Price: $50 per hr.
I am an engine builder that has driven a beetle, and nothing but a beetle, my whole life. I eat, sleep and breathe VW. I build specific STOCK engines and make my own key chains. When MY bug breaks down I have the problem PROPERLY diagnosed and fixed with original VW parts in less than 30 minutes. (unless it is a major problem) I carry EVERYTHING necessary to fix my bug IN my bug.
Clutch cable broken? No Problem. Engine will not start? Why?
Coil? Plugs? Points? Cap? Rotor button? No compression? Choke? Air leaks? Fuel pump? Distributor? Starter? Battery? Brake spring broken and in the drum, scraping? Is your timing set properly to 28 o total advance? How do you know? Does your fuel gauge work? Did you put gas in it?
Anyone can roll some dice with faces that say "coil", "rotor button" or “new transmission”. I can come to the car, diagnose the problem properly, and fix the problem (unless you threw a rod or something catastrophic) in about 30 min.
I can replace the clutch in 30 min, (minus engine removal, replacement) without missing attention to detail like, what about the "clutch process" does not work? Throw out bearing? Pressure plate? Does the clutch disc have oel on it? Why? Main bearing oel seal? Sure it's only $6 bucks for the seal but can you torque the gland nut properly to 218 foot pounds of torque without breaking it? Or do you pay a mechanic outrageous fees to "replace a clutch" but 3 months later, the same thing happens? Why you ask?
The real enthusiast loves bugs and listens to what they tell us. The only difference between us and a doctor is he washes his hands before, and we wash our hands after....
So, if you are on the side of the road or have a side yard project, I can either do it all, have the parts you need, or can point you in the right direction...
I charge $10 to come to the car, and $40 an hour. if long distance, travel gas also.
Let’s keep the VW alive! Recycle, Reuse, VW....
