'72 Ghia Convertible Resto Project Price: $7500 obo
|
This is a full restoration taking place in our shop. The owner had some personal changes and decided to not continue with the project.
The car has over $25K invested already. All the sheet metal and rust repairs to the body are done.
New heater channels
New reinforcement rails
New inner & outer rocker panels
New lower rear fenders (inner & outer)
New lower front fenders
Replacement nose section (OEM)
New upper front fenders & headlight buckets
Too much to list....
The doors and hoods have been repaired and are in primer.
The chassis is blasted and new pans need to be installed.
From this point, the car needs full finish work and paint, the chassis needs to be built, and an engine and interior need to be decided on. The car is complete, and was running and driving, albeit with a rod knock on a stock dual port 1600. The transmission is already built by Rancho into a pro-street. The original plan was for a mild 2007cc engine. The interior has Scat low back seats and can be covered to match the rest of the interior.
We would love for a new owner to re-engage with this car. It would be an opportunity to have a full restoration for half the price. Depending on options, another $25K+ would be needed to properly finish this car. We would love to continue building this car for the new owner. Our lowered asking price of $7500 would be $6000 if someone contracted with us to complete the restoration.
If you would like to see the entire build from start to where the car is now, visit http://www.motorworksrestorations.com/works.html and click on the '72 Ghia link. There you will see disassembly, blasting, and all rust repair performed to date.
