These trim and seals are made in the USA of the highest industrial quality materials which have the proper UV stabilizers.
Both the luggage rack Seal (for water run off on the roof…you might will want to trim back 10” of each bulb side of this seal) and Pop top seal are packaged longer than what you need, the secret to installing these items is to push & compress them onto the fiberglass edge and not pull & stretch them on. If you compress them on, then later on they will not shrink up. There is a label with installation instructions on the back of the header cards.
Use a sharp pair of garden pruning shears to cut to fit. If while cutting it is very hard to cut, then stop and move over a 1/16” to cut between the alum inside clips.
The inside gripper lip needs to be installed on the inside to hold to the rough fiberglass and the flat outer will lay flat against the gel coat surface to prevent dirt build up.
If your fiberglass top has any thin thickness spots, you can easily roll the trim or seal over your hand to make the inside alum clips to hold better in those areas….
The top flat rubber seal is a new design that is thicker and better than the other ones out on the market today. Yes, you will have to use your own gasket sealant (3m / Permatex black weather strip adhesive or even clear Amazing Goop) but follow the instructions on the containers as most list to apply, let them dry a little and then put them together.
The flat rubber seal will come to ready to install but you will need to trim it down to fit your top. We also notch 1x inside for this rubber seal to overlay the bottom seal.
