1972 Jeep Commando Runs Great - TRADE Price: $3699/Trade
|
Last chance with the current front, otherwise I'll be swapping in the CJ front clip whenever I get a free weekend...price raised as I've bought more parts and done some more to it.
1972 Jeep Commando - runs great, and cool, with new thermostat, spark plugs, and tune up as of 9/30/11.
Automatic, 304 V8, over $7500 invested, but I have too many toys/projects, so something has to go...
originally a 3 speed/ I6 low mileage, vacation home Jeep, I swapped in a low-mileage 304 V8 and TH400 automatic transmission, w/ external transmission cooler
No problem towing a bus, as seen above.
removable metal hard top for those cool fall days...(slightly tweaked from a tree incident)
new dual cherry bomb exhaust - sounds really great.
rebuilt front Dana 30 and rear Dana 44 axles, 3.73 gears, locked w/welded diffs
power steering
SOA lift (about 6")
32x11.5x15 mud tires, low miles, with 1 mounted spare and 2 unmounted spares
5 early 70s Jeep Renegade slotted mag wheels (these wheels now go for $100 each in good shape)
Front disc brake conversion (spindles from 77 CJ, all stock CJ parts)
ALL NEW brakes, including Master Cylinder, rear cylinders & shoes, front calipers, pads, rotors, and new metal lines & custom flex hoses to clear lift
dealer spare tire/gas can rack on rear
dealer option roll bar
new aftermarket 23 gallon gas tank w/skid plate
Dealer accessory bumper currently mounted, got tweaked on a rock...
a little rust but not bad at all, especially compared to many VWs I've seen
1 hood hinge is broken, but comes with a replacement used, but good one.
I was 4 wheeling and went over a big bump and the fan ate the radiator. Bent 1 fan blade (now mostly straight) which munched the radiator and nicked the wiring to the front turn signals. I swapped in another used OG radiator, so it's running fine now. I had planned to have the original radiator (included) recored.
Also comes with, depending on price:
2 CJ grills, 2 hoods (1 Golden Eagle hood) & 3 rusty CJ fenders, and 2 amazingly clean CJ fenders
YJ (Wrangler) grill & headlights, 2 good fenders, and surface rusty hood
either set of which will bolt up with little modification
low-profile offroading rear bumper
bikini top
new in box wiring harness
original radiator which needs re-coring due to unfortunate meeting with fan
tailgate with a little rust, but in better shape than the one on there now
2 low-mileage unmounted extra MT tires, 32 X 11.5 x 15 (same as others)
Would like to trade for a daily driver, diesel or air cooled, camper, split window or early bay bus, or possibly Beetle (non-super) vert, or even hardtop for the right one...single or double cabs of any generation, may consider other Rabbits or Jettas or an automatic vanagon for my wife...all reasonable offers considered. Make an offer!!!!!
