With everything removed from the pinion shaft, the last thing to take off is the inner bearing race. A special tool is a very handy thing to have in this instance. This tool slides among the pinion teeth and rests on the bearing race, allowing the race to be pushed off the pinion.

1 Ton Option Parts
hazetguy
Here is what an upper king pin looks like for a Bus 1500/1 Ton option.
The link pins are 20mm sized and have smaller bores for the roller bearing.
The area that fits in the bushing has a 24mm diameter like the 64-67 style king pins.
Part number 211 405 387 D

40hp vs 1500 rear engine tin
Clara
Both of these ones have a left hole for 1" pre-heat tube.

They look very similar, but the 40hp version will NOT fit on a 1600.
The heat riser areas are closer together on the 40hp tin (black in pic)
There is a bump in the tin near the pre-heat hole, but teh 1600 tin (dirty in pic) has a bump on he side w/o the pre-heat hole as well.
