Early bay bus overriders / bumper guards - NOS VWoA

Early bay bus overriders / bumper guards - NOS VWoA
Anchovy
I bought this set of overriders which came with instructions and mounting templates. The template is 11" tall. While the rubber pads appear to be original they are not attached with speed nuts which is typical and they do not have the VWoA embossed on the bottom edge. The set came with the proper spacers which are on the carriage bolts.

S705 (1968-1971?) (lock number)
molenari
The engraved number on the rear is the Zeiss-Ikon lock number. The lock number is also stamped on the original keys.

There is no part number printed on the lock. There is only a VW-logo and the word 'BOMORO' in a rectangle.

S705 (1968-1971?)
molenari
This is S-code 705: Zeiss-Ikon safetely for rear hatch (not the engine hatch but the one to access your lugage in the back). The rear hatch has a bigger opening to fit the lock.

This option was only available on panel vans (model 21).

It was an optional extra on bay window buses in model year 1970. It probably also was available on 1968-69 models and perhaps also 1971 or even 1972. In 1973 the meaning of S705 is 'airconditioning', so I suppose this special lock option was cancelled then or got a different number.

mystery brake booster for Bay window Bus?
lastchancevw
In the first picture, are 3 boosters.. The one with the long shaft is from a 71 bus, as is the rusty one with no shaft. Both of these boosters are dead, and the one with the shaft still attached is rusted out. However, I found another booster lying around that works (I sucked on it and it doesn't leak). But it has a much shorter shaft and I can't figure out what it goes on...
