Placed the heater boxes under the roasting hood of a BBQ to heat set the VHT paint, and re-wrapped with the original (only very slightly cleaner) heat shield fabric. Sliced up some 0.6mm aluminium sheet to use for tie straps, keeping the original end pieces / pins.

They turned out okay, but the aluminium sheet is easily snapped (I broke 1 strap while tightening) so I hope they hold up to everyday use.

Before and after shots. The stretched tank holds 19+ gallons and will extend my range by almost 2X as well as add weight to the front where this car needs it for better cornering.

Since I had a 68 parts car, I used the master cylinder reservoir from it. There is a small lip on the car's body that keeps the reservoir from falling down, provided that it's held back and to the outside of the car. A simple bracket bolted to the top left beam clamp bolt accomplishes this. It's still a bit of a pain, since you have to pull the fuel tank to get at the reservoir, but it works for now.
