Durango Fire & Rescue Authority firefighter admires German craftmanship static
Modern fire codes, including sprinklers and firewalls, are largely responsible for saving a new townhome development from burning Wednesday on the south side of Durango.
A van parked in a garage caught fire, said Dave Abercrombie, spokesman with the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority. The fire was reported at 1:58 p.m. in the east 500 block of First Street. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Upon arriving, firefighters saw a garage door open and flames rolling out from beneath a Volkswagen Westfalia.
Firefighters arrived at 2:03 p.m. – five minutes after receiving the call – and contained the fire by 2:22 p.m.
Damage was limited to the garage, thanks in part to firewalls between the units and the ceiling of the garage. A sprinkler system also helped limit damage, according to a news release from the Rescue Authority.
Only the sprinkler heads in the garage went off; those in the rest of the townhome did not, which limits water damage and is characteristic of sprinkler systems, according to the Rescue Authority. View other images: From static Search Forums for photo

65 Grave Splitter 66krustysplit
Found this bus in the woodz next to a creek where the 2nd owner parked it in 1977 after the head studs had stripped out. It originaly came from Europe, he purchased it from a friend in 1966. Since 1977 it had been flooded several times and is burried about two feet deep in dirt/rock and sand. I think you could say this one has dug its own grave !
