Tri-Mil Bazookas w/TLC Colorgard Stainless kentga
Tri-Mil Bazooka headers, hanging after sanding and spraying, but before polishing and curing.
John at Aircooled.net just sold me a set of CB Performance dual weber IDF40s. Told me when we were talking about my "expectations" that these headers were robbing me of 10% HP... a little late, seeing as how they're brand new and I just shot the inside with Eastwood TLC Colorgard and sanded, primed, painted, and wrapped them.
TLC Colorgard was a snap, since the package came with a 2' spray extension and 360 degree fan nozzle-tip. No idea whether it will help keep them from rusting out due to the header wrap.
Topcoated with VHT ENGINE spray by mistake prior to the wrap... caught on fire within 3 minutes of cranking. Thank the Lord my body wasn't yet mounted. Back to sanding and repriming, then shot with VHT flat header paint, then wrapped in DEI black header wrap. Sprayed DEI black silicone over the wrap, and it took two cans. Kellison Sandpiper Roadster Bodywork kentga
Inside rear after cuts, before filets and glass work.
Wound up cutting the ellipsis/banana hole in the rear seat as a relief for a bad tranny rub. Came out looking okay in the finished product and it will never ever rub again, but wouldn't have anyhow... We added a metal 2x3 box steel across the shock towers kind of like Tijuana Kustoms did in his build. The 2x3 jacked up the rear so much that we're nowhere near the tranny now. Six hours shot in the butt that we'll never get back... Which is also why this build took 4 years - lots of mods like that. View other images: From kentga In Off Road VWs Search Forums for photo

Kellison Sandpiper Roadster Bodywork 1 kentga
Early bottom-side rear fiberglass cleaning, cutting, and feathering.
We wound up using MAS Epoxy resin throughout. We cut out the battery box and added a thick sheet of masonite, bonded top, bottom, and edges with epoxy then wrapped with woven cloth. Only chopped cloth we used was to blend into old finish where it could be seen from the road. View other images: From kentga In Off Road VWs Search Forums for photo
