I have been trying to buy a new panel from Klassic Fab but Gerson never returns any emails. Thanks to Paul I'll try and fix up this crusty panel.

I think I will have to take out the shaft and clean it up. Is there an easy way to get it out?

I changed the cable and spring, but the pedal still would not come back up. I put penetrating oil on the shaft after taking off the cable bracket and the pedal will return if not pushed to the floor.

Saw a post about a hardware store breather for a tired engine. So I went to the orange hardware store and didn't find all the pieces that were in the post. The blue hardware store had everything but the 1/2 hose connectors. Glued everything up and installed it and I still had a oil leak.
Turns out I may have a cracked alternator stand. Watching the engine as it revs up oil and smoke sprayed out from under the alternator.
