Fuse Box Covers

The fuse block on my '51 is broken, so I thought I could replace it with an early Bus fuse block. I went to put the Split cover on to the Bus fuse block, and it did not fit, the Split cover is significantly narrower.
'51 fuse block cover on top, compared to the early Bus cover on bottom.

My 1977 Westfalia Bus. I bought it on May 17, 2010, the paint job is not my style but I really got a great deal with her. Her interiors are 80% original and the tapestry was intact wish I loved!! We are working on her (new wheels, shock absorbers, front end, new brakes etc) to get it in shape before our first trip. And off course some day I'll have her paint with her original color which is my goal to get it done in 2yrs.

Painted my dash to match TMI's "bright red". This was special plastic/vinyl paint. I had to use it within two hours after picking it up from the paint shop. I think it looks great. Hopefully it will hold up like it's supposed to...

hated the PO's old white paint. experimented with Rust-Oleum satin finish on the bottom followed by clear. most people thought it was professional.

PO said it was new... not a chance. hasnt given me any trouble since I rebuilt it in the garage. 1641cc/Engle 110/ 40-35 heads ported and polished/ balanced German crank rebuilt, SVDA,Solex 35mm PDSIT with all the mods, home made glass-pack muffler works awesome, Full flowed with CB parts, standard Doghouse cooling, built IRS tranny converted to Swing- all new parts done correctly. (yes the apron is removeable and Im still in the process of machining some cover plates to clean up the appearance.

IRS is the shat. a car 2" off the road is not. moved to Colorado and trashed it on the Denver streets. gotta carry a shovel or two when it snows so you can un-bury yourself. good times of youth.
