Received a (hopefully) correct mirror in the mail a couple of nights ago. It looks beautiful and cleaned up really nicely - there are a couple of imperfections in the chrome but this fits with the parts I have for the car anyway..

Placed the heater boxes under the roasting hood of a BBQ to heat set the VHT paint, and re-wrapped with the original (only very slightly cleaner) heat shield fabric. Sliced up some 0.6mm aluminium sheet to use for tie straps, keeping the original end pieces / pins.

They turned out okay, but the aluminium sheet is easily snapped (I broke 1 strap while tightening) so I hope they hold up to everyday use.
