This tool allows easy and controlled release of the spring plate. It is composed of a length of 3/4" threaded rod, 2 nuts, 2 washers and 2 1/2" eye bolts.
Just pry the spring plate off of the step while loosening the bottom nut.
Notice the spray paint "silhouette" of the diagonal arm. This will allow me to re-position the diagonal arm "close enough to play jazz" for my drive to the alignment shop. |
