Discussions about VW headlamp upgrades sometimes ask about the history of sealed beams, Euro vs. DOT patterns, candlepower, etc. This article, from the "sealed beams only" era in US lighting regulations, argued for change to allow the Euro style separate bulb/reflector/lens systems which are now allowed.
