Had to remove most of the inner side plate to fit the late beam to the early frame. I went ahead and removed the chopped up inner brace, welded the axle tube to the side plate from the inside and replaced the stock brace with some rectangular tube. Flat stock at the bottom will be a built-in tow ring/tie down anchor.
