| Refurbishing The Rear Hatch Latch |

Refurbished handle and cleaned/greased latch installed.
After installing these, the latch would still not "pop" open, even though it would open with light pulling force. The "L" shaped arm of the latch (towards the left in the pic) has some movement on the post when the handle arm presses on it. Rather than releasing the latch, it moves the arm and only slightly releases the latch. It works for now, until a better latch can be found.
On the other hand, the hatch closes very well, with almost no pressure needed to make it latch. |
