This is my 61' Bug. I have had it since 2/00. when I bought it it was in sad
shape. As you can see, she has come a long way. The first thing I did to her
was to work the body and get it sprayed. While it was in the shop, I ordered
all new exterior parts like, bumpers, hubcaps, white walls, moldings, and so
on... oh ya, don't forget the roof rack:-) As you can see, I am going for the
vintage look here. I was planning on selling her and my new project 63' so I can
get a 21 or 23 window, but I have become fond of my 61'. I have not yet slammed
her because I think it would sell for more if it is original. But things have
changed... I am going to keep her and SLAMMM the hell out of her!
On the list still to do is.. Skirts, outside sun visor, vintage louvres, two
tone and a decklid rack. Oh ya, as far as the engine goes, it is a completely
stock 36 horse.
I live in the Denver area and the one show I took her to she was a hit:-)
I will keep you posted as to her progress! |
