VIN # says -1-1042406 what year would car be? VIN# 1439635 what year would that car be? I believe the first to be late 55. And the second early 57. If the first car was late 55 then would 56 parts be the ones to buy or would 55 be the ones? Any help would be great. Thanks

1-1042406 built late 55 (november or december) and sold as a 56 model.

1-1439635 built early 57 (january or february) and sold as a 57 model.

does the 1-1042406 have semiphores or bullets? ribbed doors?

the car has bullets. dont know what ribbed doors are though?

ribbed doors are found on 55 and earlier models. they have a raised rib around the panel of the door, between the panel and the glass. (mid left in pic)

you'll want 56 parts for your car. what kind of parts are you looking for?

Ill be looking for a complete interior. I dont believe the doors are ribbed but Im not totally sure. Its at a friends shop so I will check it tomarrow. Thanks for the picture. Is your car with the VIN close to mine a 56?

your car probably doesnt have ribbed doors.

my car was built on december 17th 1955, left the factory on december 20th 1955, and was shipped to canada and sold as a 1956 model.
