| I am about to purchase a turnkey engine and tranny for my bug. I was wondering if Im going to have to do any modifications to the car if i put a 1600cc motor in it? I know those motors were made for 71 and up.. but will it fit my 64? :? |

| Should be fine. If you are converting to 12V (assumption that you are) then you would have to fly cut your 6V tranny for the larger 12V flywheel, but then again you are also buying a new tranny too - so that should be OK. Are you getting both units from the same vendor? If not, be sure the tranny vendor knows you are going to 12V (if you are) since he would likely sell you a 6V unit going by year model. |
