How to tell?
I have both numbers Vin and engine number, and I am trying to find out if the motor is orignal in my 1965C.
I went to 356 registry and got kinda lost.
Thanks \:D/ |

| Porsche kept records. You just have to search and ask enough. Try contacting Porsche directly. |

Anyone have the book from the 356 registry Secrets of the Inner Circle?
Anyone care to look up my motor?

Slow,
You can go to www.356a.com and punch in your VIN, Engine number, and trans numbers and see if at least they match each other for year and type.

guys;
there is only one way to tell for sure. call or dial up PCNA in Atlanta. they demand proof of ownership, but will provide "some" information from the Kardex. engine and transmission serial numbers are usually given. the rub ? they used to privide this service for free... then it was $30. now it's $125. there may be another (cheaper) way if you know someone who has access to the records department @ the factory. 356A has a search service if you're looking for an engine case or 3rd piece. Pellow had a database of serial numbers, but i don't know if that was ever published. your engine number should fall between 711871 and 716805 (normal) or between 811002 and 821702 (SC)
HTH
