I had a Gene Berg locking shifter in my car. It worked perfectly in ever way. But now that I'm selling the car, I removed the shifter and replaced it with a stock shifter. It shifts fine through the gears (1st - 4th) but I can't get into reverse? Any suggestions? And yes, the reverse lock-out plate is installed correctly. The turned-up side is on the right (closer to the passenger) |

Are you pushing straight down on the shifter while moving it to the left? |

Try losening both screws slightly and attempting to put into reverse.
Moving the mounting slightly may help.
Do you have a quickshift installed?
They can sometimes make adjustment a little difficult. |

Do the reverse lights come on when you try to put it in gear? Does it feel like it's in there and just won't move like neutral? I have the same problem. I'm working on it this weekend. I'll post results in here then. Good luck. |

Could be a worn shift coupler. |
