Your right my rack only goes on one way. Thank you for the complaiment on my panel.
I was talking about the vertical legs. Not gutter to gutter distance but from leg to leg from the side view of the bus. If your standing looking at the bus with the rack on. Two legs on the left are closer together then the legs on the right. And vise versa. You definatly have to bend the legs to get the rack to fit right.
If anyone has a pair of the flat 4 roof rack clamps I'll buy them. I just need 2 more to make a set for my rack.
here is my wanted ad

This is not true.... unless you bend in the 2 front legs.
Otherwise my Truck would have a roof rack on it as I have a super straight rack that doesn't fit.
i have a 1/4 rack everett from a mutual friend but i believe the rear legs were bent to allow it to go back farther for an so-42 poptop
..... or it was the front legs were bent to fit a doublecab,
Heck i dont know. It fit behind my poptop
fit in rear corners

Yes, they must be bent in a tiny bit but the back isn't that much narrower.
But must be twisted to be on the corners like that. |

Thanks! Someone stole the two beauty rings from the passenger side, and no only 3 hubcap clips per wheel is not enough to hold on caps.

I really miss that bus. One of those " I should have never sold " buses.
Still have the rack an the ladder. Been told the ladder is a Hotdog Fred re-pop.

Thanks. I dont think there was a full length 59-67 westy rack ever produced by westy so I made one myself. I originally had a full length empi rack but crushed a few of the legs with too much weight so I made new legs and reused the uprights, clamps and wood. I am now getting some longer length ash in the correct width and finish and will be putting some repro tags on it to make it as "correct" as possible for a 61 double sloper (if one was ever made). |

Cool. I think Greg's july '55 camping box has some photos with a purportedly real full length westy rack. I think it was real? Might even be in this thread somewhere? |
