They moved to Hanover on April 19th, 1956 at chassis #178004. |

The first few Miesen ambulances had the full size BD engine lid.
I believe there is only two left in existance.

The oldest known Miesen ambo. to exist and also the oldest known 51 barndoor 8)
The hatch should be a blind hatch the window is a hack job.

| I am on a serious "recon" mission near the Venezuelan border, and I just found wha I believe to be a 53 ambulance, not a big deal there, the thing that has me excited about this find is that it has a factory rear oppening hatch with factory window, the factory cabin separator looks just like the ambulance upper part, but with a regular BD cabin separator bottom, it is not a hack job, what could this thing be???????Ian, have any clues?????I will post pics as soon as I get back to the office in the morning. |
