Does anyone know where I can buy lower door hinges for my '65? I have checked the online catalogs and can't find anything except bug hinges. Thanks

Pins are available from WW but I've never seen hinges except from a donor bus. What's wrong with your hinges? Front doors or cargo doors?

Oh, the front doors, sorry! It's the same problem with my '67 bug: it appears wear and tear has slightly enlarged the holes for the pins. The hinges themselves look ok, though. Thanks for the WW tip, I will check them out.

The '58-'67 parts book lists # 211-831-421 as the bottom pin, and does not list a number for the top pin, but it also says 4 required for pin 211-831-421, so the same pin should fit the top if you don't have mirrors.

WW lists it as a door hinge pin, standard size @ $4.50/ea

WW also now has 2 oversize pins
DOOR HINGE PIN, first oversize (. 317"), fits through 1967 Bus, each, made by Wolfsburg West 211831421A

DOOR HINGE PIN, second oversize (. 321"), fits through 1967 Bus, each, made by Wolfsburg West 211831421B

They usually have the proper reamers too but looks like they're out of stock right now on the first oversize reamer.

Wolfgang lists it as a bottom hinge pin @ $13.95/ea.

Great, thanks! How difficult is it to use a reamer without taking the door completely off? Have you done this procedure before?

I've never had to do door hinges but have used other reamers. For steel use plenty of cutting oil, go slow and stay straight. I would talk to WW to see what they recommend as to removing the doors or not. Good luck!
