depends on how much of the clip you need!
the gas tank and surrounding sheet metal is different, but the apron and sides are the same |

well what I have left on my bug is a little bit damaged, but I believe that I could straighten it out with a little bit of work. if I could get a '61 fairly reasonably priced, do you think that it would be worth the hassle of getting and making it work, or should I try and find a rust free '60 instead? this '61 that a guy is wanting to sell me is pretty nice....

You are better off straightening the front if it's salvageable.I only replace front or rear clips if they are absolutely mangled,if not the front ends pull out very easily with a bumper bracket and a come-along |

no,mine was cut right before the vertical metal that holds the VIN plate...the spare tire well, front apron and about 3-4 inches of the sides are completely missing.

If your "tool shelf" is intact you can use a later year clip,a picture would be great to see how far your front end has been cut |
