Grey one is repro, dark grey is NOS.
You can see there's a difference in length. Are they ment for differrent years, or is the repro just crap quality?

I could be mistaken but the dark grey one looks like a BD prop. If that is the case I would like first dibs on it if you sell it.

bryan, that could well be. I bought it a while ago from a guy with many old bd parts. Anybody else ideas?

The shorter one is a BD replacement and also early treasure chest door props on single cabs (the 56 sc I cut up had the longer one on the treasure chest). I have some of the shorter ones NOS and they have a s/c part number on them.
The repo one you show in the pics were copied from a NOS one that I furnished to the manufacturer

I thought the shorter ones were barndoor replacement props....what are the measurements of the section in question on each and I'll compare it to a couple busses.

short one measures 5.75 inches, longer one is 6.50 inches.

Shorter is Barndoor. The one pictured above is a Barndoor replacement.

Barndoor truck is long like a later prop though:

The ones on my late '55 westy is approx. 6.65" long from end to end.
