I'm stick'n with Ball joint front for now. Since I don't know the vehicles history, I'd thought I should replace all front components for safety reasons. So who makes the toughest ball joints out there for off roading?
Thanks,

Sway-a-way makes racing ball joints, but at $400 a piece a bit pricey for the weekend warriors. There is nothing like good ol' GERMAN ball joints. But that is only my opinion. Hope this helps,Mitch.

Use some type of limiting strap to keep the ball joints from hitting an angle that can hurt them. They will reach too great an angle when unloading the vehicles weight or if your front suspension has been raised.

I read the "Sticky" on this subject, but no mention of bus ball joints. I was reading a write-up someone had about their bug and said the bus ball joints/tie rods were beefier. If so, are they a direct fit? If not, what kind of mod is required?
Thanks,

Bus ball joints are easily twice as large as a beetles and not interchangable.

Don't get me wrong on the "Sticky" for the front beam. Very informative and It is something I plan to do in the future if I stay with Baja's. I realize that since the ball joints are an inherently weak spot, no one does a lot with them. I hope I can find the link to the kid that had the bus ball joints. Think it was on sndlizrds page.
Thanks for the input,
