i was looking at the throttle cable to see how bad it is rubbing the fan shroud and the linkage cross bar fell off. it is held in place by two small springs. i put the springs back in but now it comes off while the engine is idling. am i missing something or should the springs hold the bar in place by themselves?
also, the throttle cable is rubbing pretty bad on the top of that hole. should i take a dremmel and make the hole bigger or is there something else i need to do?

Rikshaw, I'm assuming that you are asking a legit. question. First off
I know nothing about your linkage, but your throttle cable should feed
through a tube that slips into the fan shroud from carb. side. It is
flared on one end to keep throttle cable from chaffing (also keeps tube
from falling into shroud). YOU NEED THIS!! Find a used one-its about
6 inches long& 3/8 inch dia.

| I'm assuming you're running IDF Webers?The crossbar has a threaded end,simply lengthen the hex shaft by adjusting one end to make it stay in place.Any weber dealer has the instuction sheet to show how it is done.And for iowegian,you need to stay in the rants,and keep your smart-ass comments to yourself! |

| Heres a better idea chunk the linkage its big and bulky and order one from csp easier to adjust and not as cluttered.. look at them on there website.. |
