| Hi there, my propane regulator is leaking, so I need to take the old one out and install a new one. The problem is I can't get the connections apart. They seem pretty stuck. Are they all the regular righty tighty kind of thing or could they be reverse? I think everything is of brass, which seems somewhat soft so I am hesitant to use my wrench too forcefully. Any help/guidance would be appreciated. |

Yep regular right hand thread. I used a large crecent wrench and a plumbers wrentch (like a crecent wrench with more robust jaws that travel further). Each was probably 10" to a foot long and that gave me enough leverage. I put one on the body of the regulator or splitter block the other on the nut. If you are replacing your old regulator with a new marshal regulator, check the allen head fitting at 3 O'clock on the first stage. Mine was loose from the store and leaked. It needs locktite or pipe joint compound and tighten it all the way down. It is just a blind hole for a calibration gauge. I also used pipe joint compound on all the fittings. In case you didn't know you will need to shorten the fuel lines after the splitter block and flare the ends with a flaring tool. After the whole proceedure check all the fittings with soapy water and check for hiss/bubbles. Good luck.

| Hey Chris- Thanks alot for the help. I don't think I will need to change too much after I get it apart as the regulator on there is an aftermarket one and i believe I can get the same one from an RV online place. Thanks for the help, Jason |

Suggestion:
While you have that thing all apart, might want to have it sandblasted and repainted a light color. |
