How do I make my 6 volt regulator work for an 8 volt battery.

Where can I get this done?

Hi dirtylawnchair,
Find your local generator repair shop and see if they will do it. Make sure to have two or three done so you spares on hand.
Better to go through your wiring and check with a multimeter for voltage drop in the wiring. Clean, tighten all connections and solder the riveted connections in the headlight switch (see type2.com library on article we helped to write for pre-1968 bus headlight switch), and solder the fuse box clips together in each socket, or for pre-1961 fuse boxes solder the riveted connection in the fuse box together.
We did this with our much longer 1960-63 bus wiring harnesses. Went from yellow headlights, dim signals, red hot fuses, dash wiring, and headlight switches you could singed your fingers on with up to 2 volts drop. To white bright headlights, faster wipers, easier starting, and no wiring too hot to touch, with 0.1 voltage drop.
