Last night I began the task of installing a Latest rage class 11 cage kit.
I now completely understand why they use the word "RAGE" in thier company name.
What a total pice of crap this thing is. After completely giving up on trying to get it to work thier way, I just started cutting it up and making my own design out of it.
I should be finished with it tonight, I will post some pics tomarrow.
Also, any one have any tips or tricks on putting on the one piece front end? |

| Latest Rage products are made by 9 year old chinese girls that get paid $.25 a day. Not to say that they're All bad but on Safety related stuff I try to stay away. Some of their aluminun stuff like breathers and valve covers are Ok for the money. |

| Is their cage similar to the chenworth drawing I always see? Is their design much differant than that one? I have heard their is lots of frustration over these cages from any manufacture. I was thinking about taking the drawing over to a friend with a tubing bender and doing my own, with his skills of course. I am just not sure what thickness to use. Is there any probs with that design? Sorry if this counts as thread jacking. |

| As far as your front end goes, I agree with repeative checking and fitting, try not to cut anything you don't have to until your sure. Are you going full on offroad baja, or streeter weekend toy? I have a daily driver/weekend warrior baja with a one piece. I kept all the fender wells that I could and made a front piece that goes between so I still have somewhat of a trunk. if you want to see I'll try to get some pics and post them . hope this helps |

| was this abolt in set up? I have been looking for a rear "show bar" that bolts in and im sure everyone says build your own and that is fine too but I dont have a bender and apparently the cheap ones are junk so if i just got one with all the bends i could modify it. |

The LR cage is a copy of the Chenowith class 11 cage. I should have spent the extra 20 bucks for it, its alot better after looking at one.
But ohh well, its in now and after my changes I think it came out pretty good. Im not planning a class five entry with this car so for me, and what I use the car for it is perfect.
As for the front end I cut it off similair to Baja5 car, I am going to mount it up tonight after work and move the tank to behind the rear seat, this weekend is a glamis trip so thats about it for tonights work.
I just bought a link pin beam so next week I am going to convert the front frame and extend the wheelbase about six inches. At the same time I plan to trim the front piece very similair to Baja5 car and make a nice new bumper for all my lights.
I will post some pics as well.....
Thanks for the feedback.... |
