a 1915 could get around 120

fiberglass tub buggies are around the 1300lb area

there are some people that drive 1915's to 12 sec. 1/4 mile times in drag cars. dont forget that an RX7 is not a light car. these VW's are well under 2000lb and moved along with 60hp from the factory

Thanks for the reply Brad. Your post has made me feel better about the project. Sounds as though the horsepower to weight ratio will play to the VW advantage here. Thanks again very much.
I gotta say though that is the first time I have heard a rx7 refered to as heavy. :) In comparison of a 4200lbs Mustang or 3000 or so lbs of Corvette. My 93 rx7 is only about 2800lbs with me in it. But at 400hp the Rx7 is light on the wheels and it does not take much to get the ass sideways in 3rd gear. The 3rd gens are considered very light. The 2nd gen rx7s are pretty heavy though and I am guessing that is what you were thinking about.
Thanks again for the reply. BTW You did a hell of a job on that rail you threw together. I browsed that thread last night. You got a hell of alot of talent.
