Hello friends
Im trying to remove the tortion bars the ones that load the spring plates on my buggy .I have a typical beetle I have everything undone and the bar simply wont pull out I can get it to drop past the lower stop but at that point its slightly twisted and I can'nt get it out any Ideas?

You've got everything loose and free fom it correct? If so than theres a problem, maybe severe rust, which is really bad for a torsion bar. They do get sticky on the plate to bar and on the inner splines in the housing and even on the bushings. Don't be afraid to smack the springplate with a BFH a few times as you need to get the bar totally unwound or you'll never get it out (safely). That should get the bushings free form the housings. Form there it usually alot of wiggling of the bars to work them free off the splines.

Yea, If you have tension released and the housing and nuts off its just rust holding it on. I had to smack mine a few times to get them out also.

This is the first time I've seen this abbreviation "BFH"
