| I love my baja, Its been sitting for a while but runs great. I bought a towbar and just need to do the electrical to be able to take it out. I have recently lost interest but when I take if for a spin every so often I want to take it out in the dirt but I just dont have the motivation to work on it like I did 5 or so years ago. What could I do to motivate myself to get back into fixing it up and taking it out? |

you know what a good motivation is? spend a few thousand dollars on a vehicle and you will want nothing more than to take it out and beat the hell out of it

| Oh cool, I will have to see that. If I had the cash I would probably be more motivated to work on it, lol. |

| ALSO.... if you make friends with guys who have Bajas or buggies, this will motivate you. It motivates me to try and beat them. One warning, if you make friends you HAVE to compete with, it WILL get expensive. Ive went as far as to put new plug wire's and points in my 1300, just to show them what "bad fast" really is  |

| I recommend setting yourself a goal. Make plans to hook up with some samba folks and stick to it. I know quite a few people here will be attending the Barstow poker run on april 23-24. So if you have plan and know what needs to be done on your car you can alot the time needed to complete each project. and try not to overwhelm yourself all at once. Good luck. |

my goal is to have my car out at least once before then to dial everything in and kill some gremlins. I just need shocks, dammit! |

| I wish i could race but my baja is just a play around baja, even though I have put some money into it, considering my budget. There are some baja owners in my area, I should probably get in touch with them. Thanks :D |

| The poker run is'nt a race, It's just a fun run. It's a charity event that raised money for toys for tots and other charities. It is a real family freindly event. Check out the website, I'd post the link but i suck at computers. The website is www.barstowpokerrun.com |

OOhhh.. Ive heard of that but always thought it was some kind of sponsored race. That sounds really cool. I might just take a drive out there to check it out for the next one.
Suntour, I am just off Santa Anita between longden and duarte. Where are you at? Have you got a baja or sandrail? |

| Oh, cool. Yea, arcadia goes just past live oak. When do you think you`ll have your thing running? Is it a street thing or do you take it offroad? |

Well at the moment my Thing is kind of off-road, since the engine crapped out it sits on a patch of dirt in my backyard. That counts as “off-road” right?
In reality my Thing has gone through quite a few evolutions. From rust heap in a parking lot where I found it to fullcaged, lifted, double shocked. etc. off-roader. After I moved to California and torn the front beam halfway off it has been down graded to street use only. Right now it’s classified as a 2000 pound paper weight. Very soon it shall be back up to new and improved off-road wonder with tags. (just as soon as this whole house remodel/flood damage thing is over.) |

Nevermind, I just googled it and its a bar around the 247. Is it this weekend coming up? The 19th and 20th? and is the 247 a paved road?
I was just out around there a couple weekends ago but not with my baja. |
