| On chirco's project baja build he said that you could use 67 type 3 rear brake backing plates to convert to 5 lug. Are there any other years that may bolt right in using the 4 lug cap from my 73 bug like the 67's do. I am having a hard time finding 67 plates. What other options do I have to convert my 73 bug's rear brakes to 5lug??? |

Thing drums bolt right up. I have heard that you need to machine of ½” of the rear of a type 3 drum to fit right. But I am not totally sure about the machining dimensions. Anyway, Thing stuff fits without any modifications.

with t3 drums, you need the backing plates and all the t3 internals as well. benefits are increased rear braking power.
thing drums bolt right up, but you still have the stock t1 internals on the brakes |
