The stock fuel tank I'm running has some serious rust issues and the fuel filter gets red pretty quick so I'm looking to replace the fuel tank. Any suggestions? I was thinking about a poly-tank mouned where the rear seat used to be or should I stick to stock tanks? What about fuel cells? Thanks.

A poly tank or alluminum tank would work fine if you mount it outside the passenger compartment but if you want to put it inside then i'd stick with a fuel cell. Most of the smaller cylinder shaped tanks vent through the gas cap and you don't want that inside. my fuel cell is vented through the body to the outside rear of the car.

I just finished putting an aluminum round tank in mine behind the rear seat. I vented it to the outside with 2-1/4 fuel hose and a remote filler.
It was kind-of expensive but works really well and no smell of gas in the car.
I got the tank from pacific customs and the rest of the parts from Kar-Tek
I will take some pics. |

I also need a new fuel tank and wanted to get a cylindrical aluminum one. I didn't even think of the venting issue though. If I put it under a one-piece front end will it vent ok?

it will vent into the atmosphere and that will be just fine. you shouldnt experience any gas fumes as long as the inside of the car is sealed from the outside.
