My frame head that is!
Having taken the body off my Notch I gave the pan a good steam cleaning before stripping it. I left it out in the sun to dry for a while and noticed a real bad smell. We live beside a railway track and I thought something had got hit on the line! I traced the smell to my frame head and after removing the inspection cover I found a Mouse House!! Lots of newspaper, some bits of interior, plastic bags and lots of mouse **CENSORED** and a few dead occupants! They are now evicted for good!! Must have been there for years while the car was parked up!!

You would be surprised how small a hole they can get in through. Emergency brake boot, is one. Shift coupling access is another if the plate is off.
I use pieces of "Spring Scented Soap" to keep them out. And it smells better than moth balls. |

Reminds me of my find while restoring Sophy.

(sorry, have to go to the link. iPhoto makes the images pages .html, so the img code doesn't work)
This guy was in the rocker, not the heater channel. I figure the only way he got there was a nice stroll up the roof rail and he fell down the b-pillar and then couldn't get out.
No real smell since he wasn't in the heater channel.

It can be done, you've just gotta outsmart the gallery program. :D

Thanks Hal. Now that I see what you did, it is obvious. Duh-oh!
I have had this problem before here and on other forums. Thanks for the tip. |
