The Baja I just bought has some type of traction-bar set up that bolts to the gear reduction boxes. The PO bolted the shocks through the after-market traction-bar bushings instead of using the factory shock mounts.
Well, you guessed it. The bolts are stuck/rusted to the bushing sleeves and I can't get the shocks off (if the moron PO would have put the bushing bolt in from the other side I could just yank the shock off over the bolt threads). I tried hammering, prying, soaking in P-Blaster.
Any other ideas? I'll try propane torch next. Can't get a saw blade in there.
Thanks,

propane torch is going to melt that bushing, but i'm guessing you're planning on replacing them anywhos.
If that don't work, maybe you can grind the bolt head/nut off?
Could always use an acetylene(sp?) torch and cut the sucker out :) |

| Hiya 67, The traction bar you are talking about is really an anti-hop bar. Bus redux aren't worth a damn offroad without them. Good luck with your shock problem. Ol' John 8) |
