I ordered some fender beading last week and some miscellaneous 40hp items two nights ago. Everything arrived in great shape and faster than expected. Thanks WW - look forward to doing business with you again soon!

Another shipment from Wolfsburg West. All new seals for a '70 Bus. Ordered it Friday, got it Monday - the holiday weekend slowed it down a couple of days. Shipping is still quick, items were still boxed great, and they threw in some freebees. A+

I am in Australia, and the shipping prices quoted with the online ordering sytem are very high, and there are no cheaper options offered like USPS.

I was after a set of seat pads for my '65 single cab......$98.95 + $409.00 for shipping. I am expecting to get them here for free, but $409 seems a bit rich for me.

When I order online from WW I use the comments block to specify USPS. You could try that and request the charge estimate via email before shipment is made due to your location. I sent an engine tool, small, to New Zealand for 12.00. Once WW knows who and where you are, shipping USPS should not be a problem. Email them and discuss it. Address it to the owner. I think his name is Tony but if I am wrong you can find his name in one of these threads or address the email to the owner. If that does not work, tell them to ship it to me and I will ship it to you for what it cost me, no more. Trouble is I am on the East coast, they are on the West coast, then I would have to ship it back the the West coast where it would leave for your country. Much simplier if WW will do it.

Yet another order received from WW yesterday - I swear half of my paycheck is going to be devoted to them! :) Wonderfully quick shipping and items always arrive in great shape as advertised.

WW will not ship via USPS. I have used them for years having parts shipped to Australia and its just the way it is. Yeh its expensive, but we are a long way away!!
They use FedEx and UPS because its easier for tracking and insurance for them, and they get pick ups several times a day. Setting up for USPS for the sake of a few Aussies is not viable.
Their service and shipping is amazing, I have had orders on my door within 7 days of placing the order.
Its common to pay way more for shipping than parts, same with CB performance too, but great service.

Im loving it now living in the US.... I take everything for my 63 single cab each time I go home.

That just blows my mind! How killer is that?

I don't even consider buying from anyone else if I know it's a item carried by W.West. Being in So Cal it's hard to beat their shipping time and cost. I can't drive there for the same price the shipping cost. And I get it in just about the same amount of time. I'm sold!

Nothing but stellar experiences with WW, have been ordering from them for 15+ years. An Tony is one hell of a nice guy too...

VanderBus Wed Mar 14, 2007 2:43 pm

I've ordered more from them than I care to admit to my wife over the last several years and have to echo most people's sentiments that they are a great company to deal with. A fair amount of my bus is rolling with WW parts and my Beetle will probably soon be as well.

I had WW send the parcel to a friend in the US. He then sent the parcel to me (Airmail). The total shipping cost was $98.00, compared to $430.00 from WW.
No complaints about the quality of WW products. Very nice.

pandanom Tue Mar 20, 2007 1:18 pm

That's the way to go. Next time tell them the cheapest way, it will still go Air.

tchaika Tue Mar 20, 2007 3:25 pm

For people outside the USA who are tempted by stuff from the USA that is expensive to ship or vendors that will not ship outside the USA, there are services out there that will give you a USA mail address to use, and they will forward your mail and hopefully charge a more reasonable rate.

Hello,
I’m from Switzerland. I’ve ordered online from WW to buy parts. I’ve entered my credit card numbers, etc…all was OK.
And I’ve received this mail this morning:

« Thank you for your internet order. Wolfsburg West policy with first time customers requires a legible copy of the credit card, front and back with the signature on the card along with your signature below with a note authorizing us to charge your card or you may provide us with a copy of your drivers license. This is to protect you, as our valued customer, as well as Wolfsburg West from fraud. You may e-mail me directly or fax to 1.951.549.0580. Your order has been placed on hold until we hear from you. »

Has anyone had the same mail : can I send a copy of my credit card, front and back (I’ve already entered the informations from my credit card when I bought on WW online shop) : my bank says NO, you can easily understand why.

Thanks

Try confirming the message by calling them or emailing the address on their website. I'd never send the info they requested. That is just asking for trouble.

I'm waiting for their answer. Perhaps rather a payPal...
Thanks

I believe that I got the same email on my first order, I can't remember for sure as it was about 18 months ago. I believe that I sent a copy of the drivers license and all was well. I have not had any issues with identity theft. I would not send the card as that would allow anyone that might intercept the mail to use it. I think that I sent it by email also.

I've used them quite a bit and as a matter of fact just placed an order for almost $500.00 this morning. I love them. :D

I recently placed another large order (+/- $2000). Part of the order was a complete split bus rear bumper - overriders, tubes, brackets. It fit together like poop. It required lots of grinding, drilling, bending, and once it was on the bus, it needed lots of tweaking to get it to sit straight and to even get the bracket holes lined up to the frame. The rest of the order was perfect, and all the parts are quality - I know that WW will discontinue parts if they're not up to snuff; I don't know how this bumper got through QC. If you're in the market for a rear split bumper, I'd recommend buying OG, and getting it straightened.
