I just aquired a type 4 rebuilt long block from a lost frieght auction, I pulled a head to see what size, 94mm bore, but only a 48mm stroke.
can someone tell who would want to destroke a 2-liter to a 1300cc? It has porshe intakes on it and the case is painted black and so are the used cyl.
heads are rebuilt stock looking, stock oil pump and cam as I could see.

48?! Wow, the 1.7 and 1.8s were min of 66, that is weird. Sounds like a real winder - lotta RPMs to get that one up to freeway speeds. How did you measure the stroke?

I've seen engines destroked to use "parts on hand" like regrinding journals to fit longer rods or smaller journals. That sounds a little extreme though. Does it run? Maybe an aircraft or industrial engine kit based on a T4?
