it is moved because:
yes, there would be interference if you bring the arm down low enough
you have more accurate shock damping if the shock is mounted closer to the wheel |

Chewbacca:
I should also provide some additional shock travel by moving the shock pivot point out about about 3 inches, which will also move it down under torsion preload. |
