All right guys, I read the CV sticky above, but couldn't find what I was looking for.
What I have now is a 69 baja with a 3 rib bus trans, sway-a-way axles, running bus inners and bug outer CVs on the stock trailing arms.
I want to put in Thing stubs and run bus CVs.
My question is how much can I notch the spring plates to get max travel? I know I can't notch them as much as guys running the stock trans due to the extra width of the bus unit.
Also what shocks do I need to get to take advantage of the longer travel? And while I'm doing all of this, should I beef up the trailing arms with a tubular beef up kit so I can keep the stock shock mounts? I don't want to box the arms and make all new shock mounts. |
