The pictures below are for a buggy I need inspected!
The buggy is 100% mechanicly sound, I only drive it about 1500 miles a year , and mostly at the Jersey shore(Rarely driven in PA). So the few things it needs to pass, which are minor, I would prefer not to do. I.e. Wipers, side mirror, and I'm not really sure what the state requires for bumpers. If you can help, or know someone who can, please let me know. I would be happy too discuss all aspects of the vehicle via e-mail or phone, or if your not that far away from the Philadelhia area I would be happy to bring the car to your shop.
Thanks,
Bob

| jersey sucks...i dont know about PA but in VA you can register your vehicle as an antique and not require any inspection at all. You should goto the PA DMV website and check it out. |

PA sucks for F/G buggies. I have talked to PA'ers at the bugouts and in these forums and most say you need to have it inspected and registered as a "special construction" vehicle.
I have herd for PA inspection you have to have full length bumpers front and back and tires must not stick out. It also looks like your parking lights are too low... Remember that the police can pull you over for inspection violations. I use to deal with that all the time with my lifted truck.
Back in the day, It use to cost me $50 an inspection sticker in PA, because of my tinted window. Unless you make friends with a shop that does inspections you will need to make it legate.
If I remember correctly PA code doesn't say the wipers have to be electric you can get a clamp on hand operated wiper from JC Whitney. Buy this guys bumpers off ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...ename=WDVW
move your parking lights up to the proper height and add some stick on reflectors to the sides and away you go... And just pull the crap off when you go to the shore. |

I have also heard that registering/inspecting is a pain in the butt in PA. In addition to the other posts, I have also heard that you need fenders on all tires and the engine must be enclosed. Find a state that is easy on rails or buggies and register it there. Much easier.
I also have a friend that owns a PA inspection station. The state has cracked down so much that he has to do everything by the book or he will loose his license. The stickers are all numbered so the state knows right where each sticker comes from. |

| thanks for the help, I know its not legal, i always got it passed over the past 5 years. I will find someone who will do it. But I am actually going to put it up for sale again. Through theses posts on this and oter sites I have found out that PA changed the law that Street Rods need fenders and bumpers, So I am going to sell the car and buy myself a T-Bucket. |
