| Can anyone give a good estimate on the horsepower limits of a stock 3 rib bus trans? looking at using a worked pinto 2L into my rail. |

| You can break a stock tranny with a stock 1600cc S/P. It all depends on how you drive. |

| I like to drive my current rail pretty hard, I try to withstrain from popping the clutch most of the time. Usually just get it rolling then gas it! |

The worst thing you can do to any transmission is a rolling holeshot.
That's when you are moving froward, clutch it, rev the engine up and dump the clutch.
The backlash in the gearbox and ring & pinion is at it's greatest doing that.
I've seen guys break an 091 with a stock engine.
But these guys could break a crowbar in a sand box too. :wink: |
