| Anyone make adjustable spring plates for a 63 notch. I just raised the rear of my car back up 1 click the height is ok but off about 1/2 inch from let to right. i figure the torsion bar is probably a little weaker from being on the drivers side. Did i mention how much i HATE clocking torsions. That's the whole reason i went all coilover on my baja. any input would be mucho appreciated. |

| Well, the inner and outer splines are different. With a combination of up 1 on one end, and down one on the other, you CAN get less than one degree of change. 59 minutes if I remember right. |

I got mine from Sway-A-Way...have you tried contacting them?
As you know (but I'm saying this to inform others) the adjustable spring plates are only good for fine tuning the rear ride height. I think I can only get about 1 inch (max!) of height adjustment. |

| An inch is more than enough to compensate right now. i just wasn't sure anyone made them for type3. i asked at my local Vw parts supplier and they said no.I may have to try what Russ Wolfe said and clock it again. i had just done one spline on the inners to bring it up, so i may bring it back down 1 on the right outer. or up on the left outer. i do think i like the height of the drivers side better. |

| Also i'm not what the stock size is on the torsion bar itself. if anyone know that would be great. i sent an e mail to SAW and i'm sure they will ask me. |

| There are different bars on fast backs and squareback. I think the Notch has the same as the fastback. |

| T1 spring plates will work but you would have to make sure you get the correct length splines for your 23mm torsion bars. Your TBs should be 626mm long, or you can use T1 torsions as they will fit a T3 and get the correct tb to spring plate. |

I'm considering adjustable spring plates.
Does anyone know the diameter & length of the torsions in a 73 fastback? |

swing axle cars use a 626mm length torsion bar which = to use a 24 11/16" spring plate
IRS cars use a 676mm length torsion bar which = to use a 26 9/16" spring plate...
we sell the adjustable spring plates for $126 a pair

Thanks, Anthony.
It's an IRS car, so 29 9/16". I see 4 different diameters listed.
Are they the 23mm, 24mm, 25mm, or 26mm?
I assume the adjustable plate would fit all four. |

yes, forget about the different diameters... the length gives us the appropriate spring plate to use with the corresponding bar...
