Im getting ready to shoot some paint on the undercarriage of my 59 DC and Im wondering if the factory painted them the body color or the gray I have seen on a couple high end resto's. I like the idea of the gray but I cant find the paint code or name of the color any help would be great.....
Thanks

The buses I've had were body color in the wheelwells and the tranny cradle area and gray primer everywhere else underneath. The wheel well paint could have been better but usually was presentable. This has been discussed at length in a thread and I would post a link ,but can't find it right away.

It's primer.

If you use a primer, make sure that it is waterproof (epoxy primer) and you shoot a couple of coats for full coverage and protection.

All the 50s buses I have owned here in Australia are black underneath with a dull orange colour on top of that.
