Hi all - I'm new around here.

I've got an '86 Westy that my father upgraded with a Jetta engine a few years back. I now sort of semi-permanently own it.

I've driven it off and on for a few years, but really don't know too much about it and am trying to climb my way up the learning curve. I've got a few current issues I'm trying to figure out.

1. I've got a crack in the tubing just downstream of the external water-fill connector. When I fill the tank all the way to the top water runs down the inside of the body. It sure looks like its a pretty hard piece to get to. Any advice on repairing or replacing this.
2. Is there any chance that I've damaged the frig by leaking water down here. My wife had the van this past weekend and a while after noticing the water leak noted that the fridge had gone out (running on propane). When trying to relight it, she smelled propane, got spooked and shut it off. I put 3.1 gallons of propane in it today, so I'm hoping the tank was just empty. Any thoughts on this one?
3. The oxygen light is on. With the new engine, should I really have a dealer or somebody check out the emissions. The engines got maybe 10,000 miles on it, max. I've also read I can reset this light by a switch on the spedometer cable. Thoughts?

Pretty random, I know, but I thought I'd throw these out there for folks more knowledgable than me.

If the propane was really empy 3.1Gis not going to harm it, The excess pressure will bleed off, and sometimes looks like a "leak". Mine does this, and its normal. Its part of the overfill protection device on the propane tank thingy.

How did the water leak? Where was it from?

And yes, the OXs light can be reset py pressing the little button down (jack up van) on the box near the driver's front wheel. You'll see the spedo cable run in and out of it. No biggie.

Thanks for the response.

The water leaked from a crack in the corragated (sp?) tubing just a couple of inches behind the hose connector (where you fill up the water tank). I pulled off the connector cover and could see the crack as I streched the tubing.

That tubing may be a common size that is availiable at one of the RV repair and supply stores. You may be able to remove yours by unfastening it at the tank, and remove it out of the outer fill port. I havent tried it that way, just wondering.

As far as the engine goes I know something of this configueration. If you run into trouble let me know.
