Anyone have any experience with the Dakota digital cylinder head temp gauge?

Looks like a wee bit of an advancement over the old VDO. Would the 14' sender cable be the right length?

Search the Baywindow Forums for Dakota Digital, there has been a few big debates about them and hooking them up correctly.

I would call them and tell them I want a 17' sending unit. Lie to them and tell them you are a bus - they won't know the differnce.

Would I be lying about having a school bus or bay window bus? 8-[ 17' will do a Vanagon?

Mightart-I didn't have much luck finding any posts debating this gauge, what is the debate? I did find the helpful Rantwell link though.

Well thankee Art, you are too kind. All those guys are baywindows though, did 17' work for you?

I have a VDO guage, and I was able to use the lenth of wire provided in the kit, some people have to add some. 17' sounds a bit long to me, whatever lenth works for the Bays should work for you. All you have to do is run the wire above the gas tank, following the heater tube, then over the transaxle into the engine compartment to the sender on number 3, even had an inch or two of slack.
